I always do all my shopping for the week on Sunday armed with a list and a plan for all dinners. I have to tell you the list was very different this weekend. With my husband deployed and the two kids I still have at home being full time college students, holding full time jobs and have social lives I think I may be having a party for one most nights lol:)
Something I will have to get used to for sure! Also restraining myself from just going to get chicken tacos at Tio's four nights a week;)
Yesterday I went to our local farmer's Market and bought all my favorite berries and tomatoes. I have to say everything but the berries were looking pretty sad yesterday. It was so darn HOT!! Wilted lettuce did not look appetizing at all. I fortunately or unfortunately, however you'd like to look at it, parked right in front of the Cheese Cave. The best little artisanal market with several varieties of cheese to taste. I ended up buying four different sharp cheddars. You may think four of the same thing?! But like wine cheese can taste different too:) I refrained myself from going in to Vom Fass since I spent a mint on honey balsamics a few weeks ago.
It's kinda weird only shopping for myself. Sure I'll make a few dinners a week for more than just me like last night Tyler wanted tacos. But for the most part they will be small because the youngest, Tyler, is super simple. He'd eat a grilled ham and cheese with tomato soup every night if I let him. Or 6 potato beef tacos like last night lol!
So it's definitely going to be an adjustment especially since I truly love to cook and nourish my family.
Taking care of only oneself is going to be a challenge!
But I did bring my lunch with leftovers today:)
Taco salad!
And if you need a little market inspiration check out this beautiful chart from Young Living's Blog.
I have to print that out for my fridge! What a great resource. You really should save them to your favorites they have some great posts:)
Here's to a great week!
