The last few years I have been involved in both classes and swaps centered around the sweetest holiday.
I've done a tag swap, a 3x3 "Jar of Hearts" Swap and this year a "Precious Heart" swap.
I am hosting this one......
"Precious Hearts" is a roughly 5x5 fabric heart swap. There are 13 of us. So we are each making 13 pretty hearts. To be used in a sampler, quilt, banner or whatever your heart desires:) The colors will be soft pinks, whites and creams with maybe a little touch of burgandy thrown in. The only thing I really asked for was that each partcipant put her initials somewhere on the front of the heart. So often I am going through swaps I've done at various holidays and can't remember who the heck made it for me.
I was playing around in my studio and came up with this one as an example.......
Scraps of lace, velvet, ribbons, appliques and random little embellishments.......
Secured with a good amount of Sealah tape:)
It's amazing what kinds of things you can come up with just by looking at what you already have! That's one of the reasons I love swaps so much. I love making pretty things!!
Now this isn't the one I made 13 of, those are still top secret;)
I have seen some of the other gals hearts and I have to say this is going to be a beautiful swap!! I might even have my mom in law make mine into a quilt for me. A sweet reminder year around of my precious friends.
Swap day is February 9th.
