This past weekend 14 of us were lucky enough to have Robin Dudley Howes come to my home to teach her gorgeous Doily Doll. I had seen these dolls at Glitterfest and thought what a wonderful class that would be! Robin agreed and the rest is now history:)
I can not even tell you the amount of vintage doilies and glitter that covered my home!! I also can't explain how beautiful everyone's dolls turned out. I know some pretty talented ladies!!
I finally finished mine late yesterday. I just love her! Robin made me this really awesome clay heart with the words Freckled Star stamped on it and I LOVE it!! She also made some really sweet clay hearts and I bought a few deciding that was going to be the theme of her dress. She is all about love, sweetness and heart.
I had to move a few things but I think she has found her home in my art room:)
Her base is an old candlestick with a clear glass plate glued on top. Her cone fits right in the middle with about a half inch to spare to keep her grounded:) And her dress just flows right over it. Perfect!
Her sweet little face. I made tiny pink cheeks to give a little color. I am not a happy girl painting faces so that's what she got lol:) She has a vintage flower collar with a vintage earring. The pearl stamens are from French General.
Layers and layers of vintage doilies!!
That awesome heart Robin made me!!
Lots of hearts <3
And last but not least her backside..........
And she's done!
I have another doll class with the very talented Colleen Moody this coming weekend. Then I think I may be all "dolled" out lol:)
I wonder if that's even possible;)
