Finally did my Terri Brush Crown class and it was amazing!!!
Looks like fun from the very beginning!!
It was taught at the Urban Barn in Escondido. Really a NEAT place:) Can't wait to go back just to peruse the store one day!!
But today was about FOCUS lol:)
Because in those cute little blue glittered boxes was a lot of baubles that all needed to be wrapped in copper........
I didn't take a before picture. I just got to work. 33 little pieces needed to be wrapped in that tape then burnished. Probably the most tedious part of the whole process.
Once they were done I got up and took a little break. I had been sitting for almost 2 hours!! It goes by so fast you don't even realize!!
Julie Haymaker was there also teaching a class. I couldn't pass these little doggies she made up:) They are too cute and one of them is an old music box!!
Deb Hodge was there. One day I hope to have half the talent she does:)
Love it!!
The ever lovely Denise Hahn was there. And FYI she is having a "LOVE" banner workshop at Whimzy in February. I will be there:) Maybe a starter class for you!!??
And I met two new friends Shawn and Kadee who will also be at Moulin Rouge in March. Both traveled to be here!! Shawn from San Fransisco and Kadee all the way from Chicago! How is that for taking a LEAP!!!
Without further ado here is my crown.........
Drum roll........
Because I still can't believe I made it and it's still in one piece:)
The second picture I took in my bathroom last night. After our crown was complete Terri gave us a metal piece and stamp set to come up with a word to give our piece of art some meaning. I immediately thought of my word for 2011. "NURTURE":)
I am so happy with it. It was truly a labor of love I tell you!!
And once I got started I pretty much kept right on truckin' and got done with about 2 hours to spare. So Terri let me go thru some of her paper and glass pieces to make a few charms........
So here is the surprise.........
I am going to give this one away:)
Now don't get too excited. It's bumpy and it's lumpy and it certainly isn't like this lady's baubles! But it was fun and I thought I would share the love:)
I have put a piece of hand dyed silk ribbon in the ring that I had left over from my Ethereal Bangle class and I will package it super cute:) You could wear it as a necklace, a sun catcher in your window. Use as an embellishment. Whatever you'd like!
What I would like you to do is leave a comment on this post (no Facebook sorry ladies) telling me one way you "nurture" yourself.
Do you take a long bath after a long day, get a manicure, read a book, buy a purse, run, cook, eat a pint of ice cream..........
Whatever floats your boat:)
And if you don't do anything to "nurture" yourself..........
Which is very sad!
Come up with something that you would like to start doing.
Maybe this is your wake up call.
We only get one life.
What's going to get you to leap?
Don't be afraid:)

I love, love EVERYTHING!!!! sooo beautiful!! wow!!!! The thing I LOVE to do to nurture myself is,taking a walk in the morning :) I LOVE the warm sunshine on my face while listining to the birds sing to each other!!! Also spending time with the Three Peas shopping :) AWAYS nurturing !

Wow, Andrea! You are a rockstar!! It's gorgeous. I'm sorry I missed the class but I was too sick this weekend anyway. How generous of you...how I nurture my soul? Spending the day with girlfriends...whether it be crafting, fleaing or just chatting. It totally recharges me. :)

How generous Andrea! I can say that I saw your ornaments first hand. And ladies, they are gorgeous! I bet you can guess how I nurture myself.... I work on craft projects, make jewelry, and go to craft events as often as work allows it. My job is pretty busy and at times, stressful (just like everyone's). So working on pretty things helps to relax and feed my creativity.

Fabulous crown Andrea. Looks like a wonderful class.
My nurturing is a pedicure once a month and all the classes I am lucky enough to take with friends. Friends are the best and get who we are.

Oh, Andrea, that crown is beautiful and I love the charms you made....now I am going to have to learn how to solder and buy another piece of equipment. My nurturing for this year is taking the time to try new things. I absolutely loved Kristen's bangle class and am looking forward to another adventure on Sunday. Thank you for inspiring me......

Hi Andrea! Your crown is absolutely beautiful, a true labor of love. Isn't Terri amazing? What I started this year to nurture myself is to make time for me and go the gym. I really want to improve my health. By the way, in case you're wondering who I a, I was your swap partner for Kim's Jane event. So happy I found you again! And from what I hear I'll see you on Sunday. Your charms are awesome!
Hugs,
Erin

LOVE your crowns (both from Terry Brush & Shea's class). I made a similar one at The Gilded Life Event in October. Actually we made 2 different crowns that weekend. Different sizes & styles. And you are right NOT EASY to cut all that tedious little stuff out. But, so worth it. And I like you... ADORE Deb Hodges. Looking forward to seeing you again at Moulin Rouge. Charlene

it was fun to get to spend the day with you, you by far had one of the best crowns in the class. See you soon and thanks for plugging my banner class :)

Wow what a generous give away. Thank you for the fantasy! I nurture myself with music, both playing and listening to it. Nothing can bring me out of a funk as fast. Your crown is beautiful. Thank you!
